Milestones

You hit some milestones today! 

You said:  boop! 
I've never heard you make those consonant sounds before.

You also took your first unassisted step!  You were holding onto the couch, you let go and took one step and then grabbed me. 

Stood Up

You stood up and balanced without holding onto anything today.  I was the first time you've stood up without holding onto anything.  You're getting so big!

Crawling

You can officially crawl.  Look out world, Quinn is on the move! 

Sat Up By Yourself

Today you sat up all by yourself.  You went from laying down to sitting up without any help.

Second Tooth

Your second tooth came through today.  Now you have two little teeth on the bottom. 

First Tooth

Your first tooth popped through today.  It caused a lot of grumpiness, but it finally come through!

Your version of grumpy is to not want to eat, and just be a little bit cranky.  You're a very content baby and don't get too mad about things.

Rollin'

You rolled over today! You were on the floor, up on your tummy and rolled over to your back.

Update January 2, 2013

You are the sweetest little baby.  You're really patient and don't cry a whole lot.  The only time you really cry a lot is when you get too hot (Daddy's little girl!).  When you're hungry you mostly just grunt until we can feed you.

You love to be cuddled.  You bury your little face into things that are close by.  For example, when Daddy holds you in a cradle hold you nuzzle your face into his arm.

One night in the hospital the nurses brought you in from the nursery.  You had eaten about an hour earlier, but you were crying and they couldn't calm you down so they brought you in to me saying that they thought you were hungry.  As soon as I picked you up and you touched my skin you settled right down and cuddled into me.  You just wanted your mommy!  It was precious.

Your neck is getting stronger, and you are starting to lift it up.  The other day you were on your tummy on my bed and flipped over to your back.

You're very patient with your big sister, so likes to tickle you at very random times.

You're the perfect addition to our little family.

One Month Old

I can't believe you're one month old already!  Here are your stats:

Height: 22.5 in.   (92 percentile)

Weight: 10 lbs. 10 oz.  (75 percentile)

Head: 15 in.  (75 percentile)

You got a vaccine shot at this check up and it reinforced what a chill baby you are.  They gave you the shot, which of course made you cry.  However, by the time the nurse had gotten the bandaid on, before I even picked you up (so like 3 seconds after the shot), you had stopped crying and were gazing around the room completely content.  

Birth Weight!

You had your first doctor's checkup on November 20, 2012.  You weighed 8 lbs 1 oz, which means you got all the way back to your birth weight already.  Way to go!

Pregnancy

Quinn,

Even while just pregnant I could tell that you are very different from your sister.  Unlike Paige, you held fairly still in the womb.  During ultrasounds you would hold still (with maybe an occasional roll when the doctor poked at you).  It worried the doctors some so a week or so before you were born I had to go get a special ultrasound to get you checked out.  You were just fine -- just not a big mover. 

You also tend to gravitate towards Daddy.  It may just be coincidence, but I swear anytime he touches my belly you scoot over so you're cuddled up right next to him. 

We're so excited to welcome you to our little family.  We love you already!
